Watercolorist Rose Edin comes to Merced!
October 6-10, 2008, 9am-5pm daily
At the Merced Multicultural Arts Center in the historic Downtown Merced
The Artist
Rose Edin's paintings capture the romance and beauty of scenes we see every day. Each image is fresh, new and original. She has a unique talent of bringing excitement to each and every moment, not only to those moments that come once in a lifetime! Edin's compositions are brimming with variety and splashes of color. Each brushstroke carries a hue that is muted but exact and carefully applied to enhance the overall image. Her light touch capture a softness that few can match.
Rose has a number of books published by Walter Foster Publishing of California; Scenes in Watercolor, Painting Around The World and Watercolor, a large comprehensive watercolor book co-authored with six other artists.
Rose holds signature membership in the National Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Rose was last year awarded "Master" status with the NTWS having been selected for the annual national show for 10 years.
In 2004, Rose was awarded first place in the professional category in an international art competition sponsored by Art Instruction Schools. Another 2004 recognition was the Virginia Weigand Award at the Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Society annual show in Golden, Colorado.
The Workshop
Readers will learn to create stunning, light filled paintings that dance with brilliant color. Packed with 30 years worth of instruction by veteran workshop teacher, Rose Edin, Color Harmonies that Sing with Light will show readers how to use the concept of analogous color harmonies to create radiant watercolors. Step by step demos accompanied by color harmony swatches will show readers how to use analogous colors as well as textural effects and compositional techniques that really make them stand out.
