Heartland Creative Corps ShowCase

Main Gallery & Second Level Galleries

May 1 - June 30, 2024

Now on display are a few of the 42 Heartland Creative Corps art projects currently up or about to go up in Merced, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties. The projects focus on local issues such as civic engagement, social justice, community engagement, water and energy conservation, climate mitigation, and emergency preparedness. The Heartland Creative Corps is a unique collaboration among County-designated arts agencies from all three counties, working together to support program administration and act as primary partners, service providers, and communication conduits within our respective regions, with the United Way of Merced County as the Administering Organization.

The California Creative Corps, was developed by the California Arts Council in partnership with the State legislature. California Creative Corps is a 4.2 million dollar economic and workforce recovery pilot program intended to support pandemic recovery and the environmental, civic and social engagement of California’s most disproportionately impacted communities. Using a variety of art forms, including visual, performing, and traditional arts, artists will advance positive community outcomes by creating locally focused, contextually and culturally sensitive public messaging and work.
